Meet Shelley

Shelley Bell, MCouns, DipCouns, BSc(OccTher)

Welcome! My name is Shelley, and I am the founder and counsellor at Branch of Hope. I’m so glad you’re here!

I consider it an honour to be able to guide clients through the transformative process of counselling. I offer hope and support to those who feel stuck in their current circumstances.

Shelley Bell, counsellor at Branch of Hope Counselling.

My Approach

Taking a strengths-based and person-centred approach, I believe that every one of my clients possesses unique strengths and incredible potential to navigate the changes they wish to see in their lives. As your counsellor, I'm here to listen deeply and support you at each step toward your goals. Incorporating evidence-based strategies customised to you, we can journey together towards your growth and healing, with the power for change firmly in your hands.

Experience and Qualifications

My professional background includes counselling vulnerable teens and young adults, providing telephone crisis counselling, and working in various healthcare settings with people across the lifespan. I am an ACA registered counsellor and hold a Master of Counselling degree. My career began in occupational therapy, a background that has influenced my holistic view of health and well-being in the counselling space.

My own life experiences—including 24 years of marriage (and counting), raising four children, and living with a chronic illness—have deeply enriched my counselling practice, fostering genuine understanding, empathy, and connection with those I serve.

Branch of Hope

… is more than just a name—it reflects my firm belief in the power of hope to transform lives. I strive to be a warm, sincere, and insightful counsellor, offering a sanctuary where clients are listened to deeply and without judgment. My approach is centred on building a trusting relationship that is both genuine and collaborative, providing a branch of hope to those who feel lost or stuck.

I know that it takes courage to seek support. I understand that feeling of vulnerability, and I hold the deepest respect and admiration for every client who embarks on the journey toward positive change through counselling. I invite you to be courageous and reach out. You don’t have to struggle alone. Find hope for a more fulfilling life.

At Branch of Hope, it would be my privilege to work with you.
